In order to further strengthen the technical exchanges and thought collisions of the company's R&D personnel, the Hope Academic Committee will hold an academic exchange salon every month from January 2018. Each issue will be shared around a certain academic theme. On the afternoon of January 12, 2018, Hope held the first academic exchange salon event of this year. The personnel who participated in the salon activities came from the core R&D technicians of various departments of the company.
The chairman of the academic committee, Li Peng, organized and presided over the event. Prior to the start of this salon, Director Li Peng led the relevant committee members, reaffirmed the purpose and program of the company's academic committee, and unified opinions on the revision of the Constitution of the Hope Academic Committee.
Dr. Huang Xiaogen, Technical Director of Hope Pharmaceutical Innovation and Cooperation Center, is the keynote speaker and sharer of this academic salon. The theme shared by Dr. Huang is “Efficiency comes from Design_Process Optimization and DoE”. He compared the differences and advantages and disadvantages of single factor development (OFAT) and DoE from the overall level of pharmaceutical research and development, and from the perspective of DoE's purpose, common methods, application stages and how to implement it at the vertical level. A DoE disassembly case was explained and shared in detail. At the end of the sharing, he left a topic for discussion for the participants: OFAT or DoE?
Subsequently, the various professionals attending the conference spoke enthusiastically, and the focus of the discussion was on single_factor R&D and statistical_based DoE in their respective fields of expertise. Everyone has expressed their views on the necessity of scientific design, the feasibility of various R&D equipment or software tools, how to improve R&D efficiency under the company's actual conditions, reduce R&D costs, and the difficulty and solutions for landing implementation. Their respective views and opinions.
Everyone agrees with the views of the country's professors: DoE is a way of thinking. The proposition “efficiency stems from design” tells us that the overall efficiency is based on design. Only by scientific design, we will control the results we need in a limited response analysis of multi_factor parameters. Within the quality requirements; DoE is not a panacea, but a set of meticulous technical means, is an indispensable scientific practice, through DoE design can help us to do the following three things: (1) screening out the main significant Factor; (2) find the best combination of conditions; (3) prove that the optimal combination of conditions is reproducible. The participants agreed that the drug research and development work we are engaged in is a multi_factor and complex research process, which can be applied to the DoE at different stages in combination with the company's realistic conditions and the technical capabilities of each professional.
