On July 22, 2026, the first China Pharmaceutical Innovation Conference (CPIC 2026), hosted by Tonacea, grandly opened at the Shanghai National Exhibition and Convention Center. As part of the Shanghai International Biomedical Industry Week series of events, this conference was themed "China's Efficiency Accelerating Global Drug Innovation," attracting nearly a thousand industry elites from 22 countries across five continents to gather in Shanghai Hongqiao. Attendees included executives from multinational pharmaceutical companies, biotech founders, CRO/CDMO representatives, international investment banks and leading VCs, as well as top law firms, accounting firms, and other professional institutions.
As the cost of new drug development continues to rise, a single market can no longer maintain the sustainable development of innovation, while China's accumulated strength in clinical resources and manufacturing capacity is providing critical efficiency support for global pharmaceutical innovation. The industry collaboration model of "R&D in China, validation globally, shared worldwide" is gradually moving from vision to reality.
The conference featured 65 specialized sessions covering 40 cutting-edge tracks including ADCs, nucleic acid drugs, and AI-driven drug development, marking China's efforts to build a global industry dialogue platform centered on homegrown innovation.
Dr. Di Wei represented Beijing HOPE Pharmaceutical Co.,Ltd at the conference, systematically attending multiple keynote presentations and roundtable forums, gaining deeper market insights into the global innovative drug industry landscape, China's pathways for pharmaceutical companies going global, and multinational pharmaceutical companies' strategies in China—providing valuable reference perspectives for the company's future international business expansion. At the same time, Dr. Di Wei engaged in in-depth exchanges with industry peers regarding the R&D progress and developments of two small-molecule innovative drugs: HBX05 (a dual-target platinum-based antitumor new drug) and HBX08 (a small-molecule new drug for stroke).
Looking ahead, Beijing HOPE Pharmaceutical Co.,Ltd will continue to monitor the frontiers of global pharmaceutical innovation, actively integrate into industry collaboration networks, and work together with strategic partners to build an independent innovation system and capabilities.
